The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, as part of celebrations for the seventh anniversary of the Declaration of Kosovo’s Independence, has opened a competition for the best photos taken by Kosovo citizens. The best photos will be published in a special book, while the winner of the best photo will be awarded 500 Euros.
Prishtina, 23 January 2015 – Many Kosovar citizens publish beautiful Kosovo pictures using #instakosova, #instakosovo, #mfakosova, #mfakosovo. In 2013, MFA Kosovo organized a competition supported by the Norwegian Embassy and the British Council in which more than 11,000 photos were posted in all social networks, thus providing fantastic content for the first jubilant Kosovo book, titled #instakosova.
The competition with #InstaKosova and #InstaKosovo hashtags is organized this year for the second time and MFA Kosovo invited all Kosovans to be active and post their photographs that reflect the culture, architecture, urbanism, nature, society, nightlife, youth and life in Kosovo.
The gathered material will be evaluated by a five-member jury consisting of: Blerim Racaj (photographer), Nita Salihu (designer), Blerta Kambo (photographer), Arjeta Emra (British Council), Era Istrefi (singer).
The best photo will be rewarded 500,00 Euros and 10 best photos 100,00 Euros. The competition ends on February 3, 2015.
In the meantime the jury will select about 100 photos that will be published in a photo book, marking the second edition of this publication and also celebrating the independence of Kosovo.
This book will be shared for free in various state institutions everywhere around the world. This year, #InstaKosova will also launch its active website, thus increasing opportunities to publicize the video, always under #InstaKosova.
The winners of the first publication #InstaKosova were photographers Arben Llapashtica, Beni Cufi, Besnik Hasanaj, Fisnik Dobreci, Shkelzen Rexha and this publication is rated as the most authentic publication of Kosovo for the international and local audience. This book has won the award for the best project of digital diplomacy in several international publications.
