Ministry of Foreign Affairs: All Kosovo citizens involved in the bus incident close to the Croatia-Serbian border are safe and sound and will soon head-back to Kosovo.

Prishtina, 4 March 2018 – Ministry of Foreign Affairs was informed by the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Croatia that a buss traveling in the Germany-Kosovo line, which was mostly transporting passengers from Kosovo, has caught fire on the road 30 km from the state border between Croatia-Serbia (the Croatian side).

Based on the information received from contacts with police authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that none of the citizen has suffered injuries, and that everything is in order, including citizens’ travelling documents.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was informed that currently all Kosovo citizens are in a safe place, namely at the Red Cross Centre close to the border, whereas another bus is inbound and expected to arrive at any moment to pick-up and transport all passengers to Kosovo.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Croatia has continuously maintained contacts with the responsible travelling company on this issue.

The Croatian authorities have already started investigations on the causes of fire.
