Prishtina, 6 September, 2018 – After conclusion of main speeches of state leaders, the Fifth Ambassadors Conference plenaries continues also in the afternoon, which include the main topics of national interests and participation of distinguished international and local experts on Foreign Policy, members of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Ministers and representatives of Civil Society.
In the first panel titled: “Kosovo as part of global developments and their impact on the Foreign Policy of Kosovo”, the following provides their views, Ms Vjosa Osmani, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy, Diaspora and Strategic Investment, Mr Bruno Questel, Chairman of the Friendship Group France-Kosovo in the National Assembly of France, Mr Nabil Ayad, Director of London Diplomatic Academy – Loughborough University, Ambassador Blerim Reka, Vice Rector of the University of South-Eastern Europe – Tetovo and Ambassador, Fletcher Burton, former Ambassador and Head of Mission and Deputy International Civilian Representative in Kosovo.
Moderated by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, Sabri Kiqmari, this panel was mainly focused on analysis of latest international developments and their impact on the Foreign Policy of Kosovo.
Afterwards, during the afternoon session, the Conference continued its plenaries with the second panel, respectively discussions on “Security and defence in the second decade of the statehood of the Republic of Kosovo.”
The main speakers on this topic were: Mr Daut Haradinaj, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Internal Affairs, Security and Supervision of the Kosovo Security Force, Mr Rrustem Berisha, Minister of the Kosovo Security Force, General Lieutenant Rrahman Rama, Commander of the Kosovo Security Force and Mr Naim Rexha, Deputy General Director of the Kosovo Police.
This debate was moderated by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, Ilir Dugolli, while the most important issues that were raised were on internal and regional security challenges, transformation of the KSF and the NATO.
The Ambassadors Conference will continue its plenaries with two other panels in the late afternoon, wherein it will be initially discussed about “Future steps of Kosovo in the European Integration process,” respectively conclusion of visa liberalisation process, implementation of the SAA, and the EU External Policy and Security, and afterwards on “Global economic trends, challenged, directions and opportunities for Kosovo.”
The Fifth Ambassadors Conference, considered as the most important event on Foreign Policy brings together the main state decision makers, international and local distinguished experts on Foreign Policy, members of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Minsters, representatives of civil society, Ambassadors of the Republic of Kosovo accredited to different states and the Diplomatic Choir of Ambassadors accredited to our country.
