Foreign Minister Pacolli: Status advancement to the International Organization of the Francophonie, good news for Kosovo

Yerevan, 10 October 2018 – The Status advancement of the Republic of Kosovo from the current one as an observer into the associate one will be good news for the country, institutions, citizens and the overall path of international integration of the Republic of Kosovo.

This is how the Kosovo top diplomat, Behgjet Pacolli, assessed in the plenaries of the Francophonie Conference, which is being held in Yerevan, Armenia.

 “At the ministerial session of 84 member countries of this organization, Kosovo’s application for advancing Kosovo’s status was confirmed from the observer member into an associate member, which is a high ranking status. Only confirmation is expected on Thursday,“ said the Foreign Minister Pacolli.

In the following of his addressing to the counterparts of member states, the second top Government official expressed the commitment and willingness of our country regarding the increase and deepening of cooperation with this Organization, while seeking support and thanked the participants for the constructive approach of this Organization  in general and of its member countries in particular.

“In my speech to the foreign ministers of member countries of the Francophonie Organization, I expressed the commitment and the willingness of the Republic of Kosovo to advance our status in this important organization. I am optimistic that, at the closure of the Summit, Kosovo will receive the status of the Associate Member and will continue to factorize itself. I asked for support from the Members of the Francophonie and thanked them for the constructiveness of dealing with the Kosovo issue. Kosovo will take the deserved place in order to give its contribution for regional and global peace and stability,“ said the Foreign Minister Pacolli.
