Pacolli from Armenia: It is anticipated that today the Kosovo status will advance from an observer member to an associate member

Prishtina, 11 October 2018 – The First Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, together with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, are staying in Yerevan of Armenia, who are participating in the 17th Summit of the Francophonie, which is commencing the plenaries at the level of Presidents and Foreign Ministers held on 11th and 12th of October 2018.  

The Chief Diplomat Pacolli stated that in the ministerial session of 84 member states of this organization, the application of Kosovo for advancement of the status of Kosovo has been confirmed, from the observer member to the associate member, which is a status of senior rank and only the confirmation is anticipated today.

During the stay in Yerevan of Armenia, the Minister Pacolli conducted meetings with leaders of Francophone countries and other countries and he requested support for visa liberalisation and membership of Kosovo to the Interpol.

The summit of heads of states and governments is the highest instance of the International Organization of the Francophonie, to which the Republic of Kosovo has been an observer member since 2014, while today it is anticipated to advance into an associate member.
