The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo takes note of the U.S. business advisory and notes that the Government of Kosovo similarly condemns the campaign of repression against Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and other Muslim minority groups in the region of Xinjiang, China.
United States of America institutions have issued a business advisory to caution businesses about the risks of supply chain links to entities that engage in human rights abuses, including forced labor, in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (Xinjiang) and elsewhere in China.
The relevant U.S. authorities warn individuals and entities that there can be consequences to engagement with entities that have been involved with human rights abuses. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo join the U.S. Government in calling on China to end its human rights violations in Xinjiang.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Kosovo advises Kosovo businesses review their commercial activities to identify any dealings with entities from this region of China that are complicit in forced labor and other human rights abuses and immediately stop conducting business with them.
Businesses with potential exposure in their supply chain to entities that engage in human rights abuses in Xinjiang or to facilities outside Xinjiang that use forced labor from Xinjiang in the manufacture of goods intended for domestic and international distribution should be aware of the reputational, economic, and legal risks of involvement with such entities
