On the first day of her visit to Israel, Minister Gërvalla conducts a series of meetings

Tel Aviv, 8 May 2022 - On the first day of the official visit to Israel, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, accompanied by the representative of the Republic of Kosovo in Israel, Ines Demiri, and the Ambassador of Israel to Kosovo, Tamar Ziv, had a meeting with the president of the Federation of the Israeli Chambers of Commerce, Uriel Lynn, the member of the presidency Roy Roznek as well as other representatives of the Chamber.

During the meeting, they talked about the opportunities that Kosovo offers for foreign investments, its great potential and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, in various fields of common interest and actions planned by the Government of Kosovo to promote cooperation between Kosovar and Israeli entrepreneurs.


Afterwards, the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo visited Bar Ilan University in Tel Aviv. During the meetings with the university representatives, professors and students, they discussed about the possibilities for establishing an intensive cooperation between different universities of Kosovo and Bar Ilan University in raising the quality of curricula, providing scholarships for students, organizing study visits for students and academic staff and the participation of Israeli students in various activities in Kosovo.


Within the Faculty of Musicology, Minister Gërvalla talked to the group of students with special needs of this university, about the offer of the university given to these students and their challenges. The conversation ended with students asking questions about Kosovo and a short concert. Talks and meetings were also held with the faculties of engineering and the institute of nanotechnology. Both the Israeli university and the Kosovo delegation highlighted the opportunities for close cooperation in all areas.

In the meeting with the non-governmental organization "Birthright Taglit" in Modi'in, which considers as its primary task the provision of the opportunity for every young Jew around the world to visit and get to know Israel, Minister Gërvalla met with the founder and leader of this organization, Gidi Mark, with whom exchanged the different experiences of the Jewish and Albanian diaspora as well as the possibilities of mutual cooperation on the topics of diaspora.

The first day of the visit to Israel ended in Jerusalem with a working dinner, where prominent Israeli women such as Dana Weiss, a well-known journalist and political analyst of Chanel 12, Avital Leibovich, Director of the American-Jewish Committee in Jerusalem, Dr. Granit Almog-Bareket, Director of Educational Leadership Unit at Mandel Institute, Dana Gavish, Founder of Yazamut 360 Entrepreneurship Center at Ben Gurion University, Hana Rado, Founder of Social Enterpreneur-Supersonas and Group 19 and Mirit Frenkel Executive Director of "Sunrise" were invited.

The delegation of the Republic of Kosovo tomorrow will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Yair Lapid, the Mayor of Jerusalem, the chairman of the Israel-Kosova Parliamentary Friendship Group, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and protection of parliament, the Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage and other representatives of political life in Israel.

Tomorrow's meetings begin with Minister Gërvalla's visit to the Yad Vashem, World Holocaust Remembrance Center.
