Prishtina, 12 September 2020 – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Meliza Haradinaj Stublla, officially reacted to the Court of Vranje for the claim filed against the President of the Albanian National Council in Presheva Valley, Mr. Ragmi Mustafa, after he raised the national Albanian flag in 2019.
Chief Diplomat of Kosovo considered this action is purely political and in contradiction with the principle of protection of ethnic communities’ rights.
“The claim filed yesterday by the Court of Vranje against the President of the Albanian National Council Presheva Valley, Mr. Ragmi Mustafa, solely because he raised the national Albanian flag in 2019 is clearly politically motivated and in contradiction with the principle of non-discrimination and protection of rights of ethnic communities.”, stated Haradinaj Stublla in her reaction.
Chief Diplomat added that Serbia, instead of committing for recognition and advancement of Albanian community rights, in particular now amid an active dialogue for mutual recognition facilitated by allies, it is persisting the same old story, namely employing Albanophobia politics and institutions.
Minister Haradinaj stated that the Albanians in Presheva Valley should enjoy their rights and that this behaviour is not the path leading to Nobel Prize.
“Albanians in Presheva Valley should enjoy their guaranteed rights, as extended rights guaranteed for Serbians in Kosovo. This is NOT the path that leads to the Nobel Prize for Peace.”, concluded Minister Haradinaj.
