Prishtina, 14 September 2020 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Meliza Haradinaj Stublla, today, received in the first introductory meeting, the Head of the European Union Office, who is also the EU Special Representative for Kosovo, Tomáš Szunyog.
Minister Haradinaj re-confirmed Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic orientation, as the only route for Kosovo.
While congratulating him on taking office, the Foreign Minister expressed Kosovo's determination for a comprehensive agreement with Serbia, in full coordination with the United States.
“I expressed Kosovo’s determination for a legally binding comprehensive agreement with Serbia, which brings mutual recognition between the two countries, in full coordination with the United States and with the assistance of the European Union”, stated Minister Haradinaj Stublla.
Chief diplomat Haradinaj stressed that Kosovo expects the European Union to facilitate the approximation of recognition by the five EU member states that are yet to recognise Kosovo.
“After the Washington agreement for economic normalization between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as the recognition by Israel, we expect the European Union to facilitate the approximation of recognition by the five EU member states that are yet to recognise Kosovo. We also expect strategic action for the remaining contractual obligations in the acquired right of Kosovo for free movement without visas”, stated Minister Haradinaj Stublla.
