Hague, 17 September 2020 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, Meliza Haradinaj Stublla, was received today in an official meeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Stef Blok.
Expressing gratitude for the host, Chief Diplomat Haradinaj Stublla briefed her Dutch counterpart on political developments in Kosovo, with special emphasis on the Washington Agreement on the normalization of economic relations between Kosovo and Serbia, which will precede the final agreement on mutual recognition and advancement in the recognition position of the remaining five EU countries.
“We also discussed the lack of visa liberalization after the fulfilment of the criteria by Kosovo, and I requested from Mr Blok that the Netherlands to reconsider its sceptical position towards this agenda. I also submitted Kosovo's updated report on the rule of law, organized crime, and migration - issues that build a sceptical Dutch position - and invited it to exchange joint expert-level working groups to address the Dutch authorities' concerns”, said so the Chief Diplomat of Kosovo.
In the spirit of deepening bilateral relations, Minister Haradinaj Stublla and Minister Blok signed the Agreement on Social Security between Kosovo and the Netherlands, which relates to pensions and mutual legal benefits.
It is worth noting that the agreement signed today abrogates it between the former Yugoslavia and the Netherlands.
