Prishtina, 21 September 2020 – The United Nations (UN), due to the global crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic, today will mark the opening of the 75th session of the General Assembly which will be held online, thus remembering, at least this year, the traditional way of gathering leaders from all over the world, at its headquarters in New York.
On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Meliza Haradinaj-Stublla, has made a public statement announcing that despite the impossibility to participate in the margins of this session, the Republic of Kosovo will be committed to through virtual meetings to deepen the advancement of bilateral relations with countries of the same political line within the UN.
Although not yet a member of this organization, the Republic of Kosovo will be committed to advocating the common values of the United Nations - the development of democracy, the protection of human rights and sustainable economic and social development, with a focus on the global health crisis.
Chief diplomat Haradinaj-Stublla said that Kosovo diplomacy will push forward the agenda of recognition and strategic goals of other obligations deriving from the Washington Agreement.
“Reaching an Agreement for Normalization of Economic Relations between Kosovo and Serbia and the readiness of the Republic of Kosovo to move towards a final agreement, which includes mutual recognition within the borders of 17 February 2008, as well as the fight decided alongside the allies of the coalition against DAESH, in the fight against international terrorism, will be the goals of the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo in the virtual meetings that we will have during this session ", stated Minister Haradinaj-Stublla.
