The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, received today in a bilateral meeting in Prishtina the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, with whom they held a joint press conference.
Minister Gërvalla thanked Mr Osmani for his visit to Kosovo, and they jointly assessed that the Republic of Kosovo and North Macedonia are two neighbouring countries, an example of good neighbourliness, cooperation and partnership. At the same time, they have assessed the relations between the two countries at the level of bilateral agreements as excellent and they discussed concretely their deepening..
The parties exchanged experiences on the issue of the COVID-19 pandemic and how to manage the situation.
The meeting expressed the commitment of both parties to advance joint plans and agreements and to initiate concrete steps towards trade cooperation in the energy sector as well as in the creation of a joint tourism package.
The need to create joint checkpoints at border crossings according to the ‘One Stop Shop’ concept was also emphasized.
Minister Osmani indicated that they are completing the Skopje-Bllace highway while working on the strategic project for finalization of “Corridor 8” or the Skopje-Ohrid-Struga-Qafe Thane highway.
Minister Osmani also expressed his country's commitment to support Kosovo on its path to the EU, membership in international organizations and exchange of experiences for membership in NATO.
