The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs. Donika Gërvalla, had a virtual meeting with her counterpart from the Republic of Senegal, Mrs. Aïssata Tall Sall.
Minister Gërvalla thanked the Senegalese chief diplomat for the cooperation and excellent relations between the two countries. Senegal is the first country on the African continent to recognize the independence of Kosovo, and Minister Gërvalla praised the fact that this country has consistently supported Kosovo in strengthening international subjectivity.
During this meeting the parties agreed to see opportunities for deepening economic cooperation through concrete agreements. Trade exchanges, the elimination of double taxation are seen as initial steps that can be taken in the bilateral relationship.
The topic of discussion was the issue of management of COVID-19 pandemic.
For her part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Senegal, Mrs. Aïssata Tall Sall, has reiterated the supportive attitude of its state towards Kosovo, membership in international organizations and other processes.
