Prishtina, 20 October 2021 - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, today held a virtual meeting with the United Kingdom Minister for European Neighbourhood and the Americas, Wendy Morton.
Gërvalla expressed deep gratitude for the great support that the United Kingdom has provided to Kosovo in all phases of state building.
Chief Diplomat Gërvalla informed Minister Morton, with the commitment of the new Government of the Republic of Kosovo, about the strengthening of the rule of law, economic development and the intention to create as many new jobs as possible. At the same time, she informed her about developments in Kosovo's foreign policy and the priorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Regional cooperation was also a topic.
Minister Gërvalla stressed the commitment of the Government of Kosovo to reach joint agreements for the benefit of citizens in the framework of the Berlin Process.
“The Berlin Process, having the EU inside, provides security and stability. Regional initiatives, which try to present themselves as an alternative to the Berlin Process and even to the EU, are unnecessary and even harmful”, she added.
On her part, Minister Morton reiterated the supportive position of the United Kingdom for Kosovo's commitment to strengthening international subjectivity.
