Halifax, 21 November 2021 - During their visit to Canada, on the sidelines of the Halifax International Security Forum, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs. Donika Gërvalla met with German MPs: Jürgen Hardt, Peter Beyer, Stephan Mayer and Roderich Kiesewetter.
In the meeting with German MPs, President Osmani stressed that relations with the German state are excellent and that this country is a strategic partner for Kosovo. According to President Osmani, Kosovo needs German support even further, especially in the European path, and also in that of applying for membership in international organizations.
President Osmani reiterated that Kosovo has already met the criteria for liberalization and has demanded that the EU keeps its promise to the people of Kosovo.
In the meeting with German MPs, President Osmani stressed that Kosovo is constructive in the dialogue with Serbia, but mentioned the encouraging discourse from the Serbian party, as well as the extension of Russian influence in the Balkans to destabilize the region. President Osmani, in this context, stressed that the dialogue with Serbia should end with mutual recognition and reiterated that Kosovo will not become part of any regional organization in which there is no equal treatment.
