Prishtina, 17 May 2022 - The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, received the delegation from the Czech Republic, led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Martin Dvořák, who was accompanied by the Political Adviser, Adam Volt, Desk Officer for Southern and South-eastern Europe, Jana Kalman, Chargé d'Affaires at the Czech Embassy, Pavel Bílek, and Deputy Head of Mission, Juraj Melioris.
This meeting discussed the bilateral relations, in which case, both parties expressed interest in the further strengthening of relations in various fields, especially in economic cooperation. Also, the Czech side was informed about the progress that the Republic of Kosovo has made in the last year in the indicators of economy, rule of law and democracy.
The security situation in the region and Europe was also discussed during the meeting. Deputy Minister Ahmeti informed the Czech delegation about the steps taken by the Government of Kosovo, emphasizing that our country is aligned with democratic countries in defence of the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Deputy Minister Ahmeti congratulated the Czech Republic on assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and membership in the United Nations Human Rights Council.
For his part, Deputy Minister Dvorak said that the Czech Republic supports Kosovo in its European aspirations. He stressed that during their Presidency of the EU Council, the Western Balkans will be one of the main topics.
